WOODPLANS.AI ("we", "us", "our") provides an AI-powered woodworking plan generator. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

• Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture.
• Content you provide — project descriptions, photos of wood or projects you upload, and any plans you generate or save.
• Usage data — how you interact with the app, such as pages visited and features used, to help us improve the product.
• Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan or start a free trial, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details ourselves. We do keep a card "fingerprint" from Stripe (an identifier that is not your card number) to enforce one free trial per card.
• Device and network data — your IP address when you use the app, which we use to prevent abuse such as one person creating multiple accounts.

How We Use Your Information

• To generate woodworking plans, cut lists, and images based on your input using AI models.
• To operate your account, track subscription status, and manage credits.
• To prevent fraud and abuse, including limiting free trials and accounts to one per person, using IP addresses and card fingerprints.
• To show plans in our community plan library, if you leave library sharing on (see below).
• To improve and maintain the app, including fixing bugs and adding features.
• To communicate with you about your account or support requests.
• To measure and improve our advertising, including on Meta (Facebook and Instagram).

Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted third parties to run WOODPLANS.AI, including:

• Google — for sign-in authentication.
• Supabase — for account, database, and authentication infrastructure.
• Google AI (Gemini) — to analyze photos and generate plan content and images.
• Google Analytics — to measure site traffic and understand how visitors use the site. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them via our cookie banner.
• Hotjar — to analyse how visitors interact with pages (aggregated behaviour and anonymised session recordings) so we can improve the experience. Only loaded if you accept analytics cookies.
• Meta (Facebook) Pixel — to measure the results of our advertising and show relevant ads on Meta platforms.
• Stripe — to process subscription payments securely.
• Vercel — to host the website and application.

These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are bound by their own privacy and security practices.

The Plan Library

Plans you generate may be reviewed and added to our community plan library, where other members can view and download them. Library plans are shown without your name or email, and the photos you upload are not published. You can turn this off anytime in Account → Plan library; doing so removes your plans from the library and keeps future plans private.

Data Retention

We retain your account information and generated plans for as long as your account is active, so you can access your plan history. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

Cookies

Essential cookies and local storage keep you signed in and remember your preferences. These are always active because the app cannot function without them.

Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics and Hotjar to help us understand site traffic and how visitors use the site. These are off by default — we only enable them if you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner shown on your first visit, and choosing "Decline" stops them from loading. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the banner back.

Advertising cookies are set by the Meta (Facebook) Pixel so we can measure the performance of our ads and show relevant ads to people who have visited the site. The pixel loads on all visits. You can limit ad tracking through your Meta account settings and through your browser's or device's privacy controls.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the email below. We won't discriminate against you for exercising them.

California residents. Under the CCPA, you can ask what personal information we have collected about you, ask us to delete or correct it, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We don't sell personal information. Our use of the Meta Pixel for advertising may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising; you can opt out by choosing "Decline" on our cookie banner, through your Meta ad settings, or by sending a Global Privacy Control signal.

Users in the EEA and UK. We process your data to provide the Service you signed up for (contract), to prevent fraud and improve the Service (legitimate interests), and for analytics and advertising cookies where you have agreed (consent). You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Our service providers may process data in the United States.

Children's Privacy

WOODPLANS.AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
